Nutrition & Health OnLine Magazine: Editor's View

I think that summer is probably my most favorite time of the year. It seems like it is so much easier to train when it is warm outside. I have long suspected that warmer temperatures aid recovery by increasing blood flow. Whether this is actually true or not I can not say for sure but what I do know is that I feel better and when I feel better I can train harder which translates into greater results.
I do not think I am alone in my love of summer. This time of the year seems to be the most active for just about everyone. Whether it is an organized sport like baseball or soccer or more recreational like hiking or water-skiing it seems like there is an endless supply of activities in which to become involved.
The biggest thing to remember this time of the year is that as your activity level increases so do the demands on your body. You need to make sure that you supply yourself with plenty of fuel and nutrients to stay in peak condition in order to better enjoy all of the different activities in which you engage. Our feature article this month explores supplements that can improve performance in virtually every sport. I don't know about you but I think I have the most fun when I perform at my best so this article is well worth the read.
Have a Great Summer!
